Noticed this little ant putting in

Noticed this little ant putting in some Sunday overtime. Amazing how much they can carry.

Moreton Bay fig trees seem to be more intensely green as we head into the warmer months.

Newish bubbler in the park (well, first time I've noticed it anyway). Like the little bowl at the base for the doggos.

On 13 May I knew something was wrong. On 28 May I was admitted to hospital barely able to . A fortnight later I finally got home, still unable to walk & fearing even one stair. Today, 1 Sept, I declared myself fit to return to work. It was great to be back. A big and to all of you in this wonderful space who have so kindly received my attempts at and , so critical for my convalescence. Now you can breathe easy. There will be fewer from now on! X

Find a new walk, paddle or run.

Dont forget we have three walks this Saturday. One in central London a walk to Eastbourne and a nice walk through Epping Forest.

Back in July, I spent a morning hanging out with the Kootenay Columbia Trail Society (KCTS) trail crew as they worked on completion of the new Cedar Trail. This trail, when complete, will link Rossland, BC, Canada to the start of the Seven Summits trail, which is another Rossland beauty.

I made a short video so you can see the amount of effort, skill and passion goes in to making the trails we all love and enjoy -

Hey, fam, fam in particular...

Its self-care September! Do remember that you are loved, and precious, and please take some time today to cherish yourself! Do something just for you - you deserve it. Me, Im going for a walk.

Did you know that there is such a thing as "musical humor" Yes, there is. Here's an example that I ran into this morning.

Though maybe you need to be the very special kind of that I am to see the in this.

:catthinking:

I went on my and decided to just put on by . For those not in the know, Swish is essentially their song but done with different intros and outros.

The first song on the album is the original that they put out. The intro starts with a man inciting someone to play music. The person playing the music seems a bit shy, though the sound he produces is (in my eyes at least) bold. The man says "don't be nervous." I was always puzzled by that exchange because it does not seem that the person *needs* goading. I guess this created a conflict in my mind.

Then you get to the variation they titled , and there it totally makes sense. I nearly fell off laughing onto the path when I heard it during my walk. Conflict resolved!

Again, I might be the only person finding this funny.

I'm dropping both songs down here.

You could say that Destruction is the setup, and When is the punch line.

Walking around Yerrabi Pond on an absolute corker of an afternoon. Here's hoping the weekend stays like this

I walked 15 km around Zoutelande in Zeeland and inevitably the photos of the sea stand out. High dunes, clouds, beach huts, and a shipping lane to Antwerp close to the beach make for great photo ops. All 120 photos:

Cockatoos in a palm tree, the video version.

The cockatoos were up in a couple of the palm trees in the park, like real life exotic wallpaper (only noisier).

Walking along Hamble shore on Wednesday and looking back towards Hamble. It's been a day of sunshine and some big clouds but it has stayed dry. On my way to the country park and a cup of tea.

Hamble Quay on Wednesday afternoon. Half an hour sitting by the river. Very pleasant and relaxing.

Crossing the river from Warsash to Hamble on Wednesday.

On the pink ferry from Warsash to Hamble on Wednesday. The ferry shelter will be open again in an hour or so.

A quick break with a drink in Warsash on Wednesday before catching the ferry to Hamble.

Down to the shore at high tide in Warsash on Wednesday.
