The MG car club meet had

The MG car club meet had a festival atmosphere.

Back walking in the park today. An MG car club was having a meeting there today so had a sticky at all the gorgeous cars.

Dog walking into fall.

Dear Friends,
with a small slows us down. Our is more directed to them and our surroundings. When possible, always with a child, or perhaps more often, walking hand in hand with one to direct your attention to your pace and surroundings, too.

After walking down the river on Friday, I caught the ferry to Hamble and enjoyed a break in the sun on the shore. From there, a walk along Hamble Shore to the country park. Warm sunshine, no rain until I got off the train on the way home.

The tide is coming in along the river Hamble - and so is lunch, hopefully.

Despite a poor weather forecast I decided to go for a walk on Friday. I'm glad I did. I would have missed out on a lovely day for walking. Walked from home to Lower Swanwick, then down the river Hamble to the ferry.

"A Lancet review finds a 6-9% reduction in in and around a in and up to 25% decreases from , where and are prioritised over ... Creating environments where every essential is within a 15-minute or ride fosters consistent physical activity. This diminishes risks associated with a sedentary lifestyle and elevates ."

Why feels like a chore and my proposed solutions.

1. Walking 4 laps at the / takes too long/I can't do it every month. Try instead to go to the park/block at different times of the day and at each visit, just one lap. Each visit will be short.

2. shows/ seem to change camera angles any time they get, to freshen the . to the park/block to walk one per , multiple times a day can redo that feeling irl that tech creates.

The Royal Victoria Country Park on Thursday afternoon. Apart from a brief shower on the way to Hamble it was mostly dry and mild. Quite pleasant for walking. Light rain on the way to Netley station and when I got off the train.

Cloudy again as I walked from Hamble Quay via Hamble Common to Hamble Shore on Thursday.

Fursday's fungus, at the base of a tree on Hamble Common.

After a drizzly start and a sharp shower along Hamble Lane, some sunshine for my break at Hamble Quay on Thursday.

A peaceful scene along the river Itchen at Northam Bridge on Thursday. Well, not quite. There seems to be a fight going on under the bridge. Thankfully, the new flats provide me with an alternative route.

At night, I took a walk from Sumikawa in Minami Ward to Nishioka in Toyohira Ward.

I think this is very interesting and have been following along as he's just now exiting Kansas. So for friends and family in Missouri - your turn to host!

I for one, love these types of explorational journeys. Helps in so many ways to get out there and embrace life. My spirit would totally do something like this.

Walkable cities mitigate the urban heat island effect, invite investment and development, foster intergenerational interaction, and walkable cities literally feel like falling in love:

A person with a one-hour commute to work has to earn 40% more money to be as satisfied as someone who walks. At the same time, shifting from a long commute to a short walk would make a single person as happy as if he or she had found a new love.

The second part of Tuesday's walk. From Hamble Quay via Hamble Common and Hamble Shore to the Royal Victoria Country Park. The wind direction meant it was sheltered along the shore. A cup of tea in the country park before catching the train home.

A chilly wind at Hamble Quay but good to see the sun shining. A coffee, a chat and a dog to make a fuss of. A nice way to spend a half hour by the river.

The inland, hilly and country route to Hamble on Tuesday, starting with a flat section through Riverside Park to Mansbridge.

Lovely this afternoon. is (from the other side!). Started the thinking this will make a lovely 10k only to find it was very steep and loose underfoot. Some great though! Will share more photos.

While most people are indulging themselves in the Budget 2024 debate, there was interesting post by someone talking about a remote station, the 16 Sierra.

The is so that the nearest civilisation to it is some 500 metres away and it is practically impossible to to the station at night.

Its so bad, the second least used station literally has 2x the of 16 Sierra.

A Walk In The Park by Debra Martz
Just out and about exploring the roads around Carlyle Lake, Illinois in October and came upon this beautiful stand of trees with a path to the lake. Also, enjoyed the sounds of nature as the trees and undergrowth were full of birds. The sights and sounds of nature always brighten any day for me.

I took a walk around Sapporo Station.

A hint of brightness over Southampton Water at the Royal Victoria Country Park on Monday afternoon. I'm heading for the caf and a nice cup of tea before catching the train home.

Out onto Hamble Shore and into the cold wind on Monday's walk.

Down to Hamble Shore via Westfield Common on Monday afternoon. The trees offer some shelter for the wind but the darkness under them seems to enhance the chilly feel to the air.

Hamble Common on Monday afternoon. High tide but the paths are dry.

A coffee at Hamble Quay after catching the pink ferry from Warsash during Monday's walk. A chilly breeze here and not much shelter, so not staying very long.

After a sunny weekend, a real touch of autumn on Monday. After walking from home to Warsash, I found a sheltered spot to sit for a while by the water.

If you're not going to walk your talk then there's no point in talking.

Mind was worrying about lots of stuff when i started the walk. The walk does help me manage anxiety. Especially things like the calming little creek reflections.

Today, ended up pausing partway through to write a list of all the things so i could worry about them later. Otherwise, would've stayed too much in my head and not enough in the moment. Worked and feel much better afterwards.

Could feel the sting of the sun as i started my walk today so kept to the shadier bits. Love walking between the avenues of Moreton Bay figs anyway so it's no hardship.
