Sunset from the moor above Dunvegan. This is on a walk that we do regularly. Its known as the 2 Churches Walk. You can read all about it here:

The beach to myself at the Royal Victoria Country Park on Tuesday afternoon. But I'm not staying. There's a cup of tea to be had at the caf.

Leaving Hamble Common at Hamble Shore on Tuesday's walk.

A bridge over the dry creek on Hamble Common. A rapidly falling tide on Tuesday.

A cloudy day with a few sunny spells on Tuesday. Still warm and pleasant sitting by the river in Hamble.

Just a short walk part of the way round the village this morning, my back and hips are not happy with me. Thought going out early, I might avoid people, alas, bumped into one of the village gossips and was greeted with "What are you doing out so early" The street sign always makes me smile. Little things amuse me. Time for another and then to decide on stitching!

Moreton Bay fig tree. One of my fave trees in the park.

No bouncy ears today. However, we do don our colored light in green!

Hamble Shore on Monday afternoon after walking from Hamble Quay via Westfield Common. Next stop, the caf in the Royal Victoria Country Park.

Walk

Arriving at Hamble Quay on Monday. Plenty of time for a pause, a drink and a chat.

Crossing the river Hamble from Warsash on the pink ferry on Monday afternoon.

Lovely weather for a walk down the river Hamble on Monday. A lot quieter than yesterday, just the chatter of the birds feeding at the water's edge.

Another gorgeous warm and sunny day on Monday, but it didn't start that way. This was the river Itchen at the end of the Horseshoe Bridge, looking towards Northam in the morning.

Auch wenn die Temperaturen drauen teils noch (besorgniserregend) sommerlich sind, zieht der Herbst ein.

Nature's collage.

The water parks season is over, so no constant buzz of voices in the background, an empty parking lot, and a very quiet park in general (the water park is only a small part of it).

Temperature wise it probably could have stayed open a few more weeks, with 80-90F afternoon highs the past several days, but I assume they stuck to plans agreed upon months/years ago.

A gentle walk after brekky. Red roses in the park are looking fab.

A cup of tea in the sun at the Royal Victoria Country Park towards the end of Sunday's walk.

Hamble Shore on Sunday afternoon. A lot of people on the water, on the beach and in the country park.

I didn't make it onto this ferry from Warsash to Hamble on Sunday afternoon. A few too many people. A nice day for waiting by the river.

Strawberry Field in Warsash on Sunday afternoon.

Hook with Warsash local nature reserve on Sunday afternoon.

Sarisbury Green on Sunday's walk to Warsash. A warm and sunny October day.

Just back from a fun afternoon of blog research, foraging and chatting with Weird Wiltshire's Emma. Wayland's Smithy and the Uffington White Horse are just over the border in Oxfordshire. Such fascinating places and steeped in mystery.

Meeting on the Sunday round

Today's walk was into the woods...

When you're out on the moor do you have music that comes to you

I often have something akin to Lark Ascending going through my mind. Though not note for note. Just the essence of it I guess.

For some reason it summons my grandfather onto the hill with me, who would walk miles every week right up until he died aged 94. I've no idea if he liked the tune myself. He's off striding ahead of me though. Coat billowing behind.
